The Rockies and Cardinals faced off in a battle between the top two teams in the league, and the Rockies jumped out to an early 5-4 lead in the second inning. The Cardinals rallied to take a 6-5 lead in the third, and the Rockies were able to get a runner to third but could not get the tie. The Cardinals blew the game open late, and Braxton Hyde was able to close out the Rockies at the plate for a 14-5 win.
