TURPIN, Okla-Hooker's Jordan Kennedy gave up two hits to the first two batters he faced, then did not give up another through seven innings, and the Bulldogs claimed the district title with a 7-4 win over Turpin.

Hooker swept the Cardinals on their home field to claim their fifth-straight district title after losing all four games against Turpin during the regular season.

"Our kids have really come a long ways over the course of the season," Bulldogs manager Chad Hussey said. "We've worked hard to get here. It was great to come out here and be successful in a close game like we were yesterday. We knew we were capable of that, and we did it. These kids bought it and we got over the top today."

Both teams scratched out a pair of runs in the first inning. Turpin took advantage of Kennedy's only two walks of the game in the third and an error to go up 4-2.

But for the second day in a row, the Bulldogs scored three runs in the fifth to rally from behind.

Kennedy hit a bloop single to shallow center, then stole second. Brandon Gomez hit a line drive up the middle to score Kennedy, then stole second base. Hunter Brown beat out a throw to first on an infield hit. Jaden Valles tied the game with an RBI double to right field. Hutton Parsons sacrificed to right to put the Bulldogs on top for good, 5-4.

Gomez singled up the middle in the bottom of the six to score two insurance runs.

Besides his work on the mound Kennedy reached base safely on three of four at bats, scored three runs and stole a base. Brandon Gomez had two hits, three RBI, and two runs scored.

For Turpin, Jordon Lujan had a double, a walk, two stolen bases and two runs scored. Matt Young singled, stole a base, and scored a run.

Hooker will now wait to see who and where they will be playing their regional tournament.
