JOHNSON – Ivan McGee, 91, died Friday, April 25, 2014 at Stanton County Long Term Care Unit in Johnson.
He was born Feb. 10, 1923 to John Landon and Viola Jane (Hall) McGee in Richfield, Morton County.
He married Mary Lee Taylor in 1943. She preceded him in death.
He later married Arleta Faye Crow. She preceded him in death in 2000.
He graduated from Richfield High School.
He was a United States Navy Veteran of World War II.
He was active in his community, served on the Richfield School Board, played on the Richfield baseball team and was an enthusiastic supporter of the Boy Scouts.
He was a member of the Richfield Methodist Church.
His interests were horses, farming, baseball, and shooting pool.
Survivors include sons, Edward McGee and wife Casey, Claude, Texas, Mark McGee, Montana, Jeff Crow and wife Wilma, Ocilla, Ga., Tony Crow and wife Niki, Marienthal, and Eddie Crow and wife Layla, Grand Island, Neb.; daughters, Melissa Bolivar and husband Jose, Manter, Susie Crow, Manter, and Maria Crow and husband Marc Harmon of Ulysses; sister, Mildred Calvin, Ulysses; 25 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by sons, Phil McGee and Hal McGee; brothers, Harree McGee and Charlie McGee; sisters, Dorothy Thrasher and Louise Bonham; and grandchildren, Todd Crow and Mallari Harmon.
• Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at Garnand Funeral Chapel in Johnson with Pastor Mary Courtney presiding.
Burial will follow at the Stanton County Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by Johnson VFW Post #3684.
