Daily Leader staff report

In what could easily have been the best two teams in Class 3A, Southwestern Heights could not return to the state tournament to defend their title after falling to Thomas Moore Prep 51-47 in the Sub-State championship.

But the Mustangs did qualify and will be in Hutchinson next week to compete for a state championship after knocking off Lakin 62-44.
