Bobby Dale James, 81, died April 28, 2014 at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.

He was born July 29, 1932 to Sherman E. and Alice Maria Katherine Miller James in Roswell, N. M.   He married Jo Dean Bradley on July 22, 1951 in Roswell, N.M.

He graduated from Roswell High School in 1952 and joined the Navy Air Force upon graduation, where he served as an Aviation Storekeeper from 1952 to 1956 and as a Naval reservist for four years.

He joined Mobil Oil in Roswell and retired in Liberal in 1992 with 35 years. He was also with Mobil in Oklahoma City and Denver.

He was an avid coin shooter and hunted arrowheads in New Mexico, Colorado and Oklahoma.

He is survived by his wife; son, Bradley D. James and wife Arleen of Hooker, Okla.; daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Bott and husband Rick of Castle Rock, Colo.; grandchildren: Capt. Molly James, widow of 2nd Lt. Luke Samuel James, Kirby James and wife Britni, Stillwater, Okla., Dr. Sharla Bohi and husband James, Perkins, Okla., and Matthew Bott, Parker, Colo.; two great-grandsons, Bradley Heath James and Kaden Luke James; sister-in-law Shirley James,  Dexter, N.M.; sister-in-law Patsy Stockman, Everman, Texas,; brother-in-law Dr. Robert M. Bradley, Sun Valley, Calif.; sister-in-law Susan Hobson and husband John, Moses Lake, Wash.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents,; grandson 2nd Lt Luke S. James; brothers, Elsworth James and Kenneth James; and sisters Rosetta Bradley and Betty Ball.

• Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, May 2, 2014 at the First Christian Church in Hooker, Okla. with the Rev. Roy Berkley presiding.

Memorials are suggested to the 2nd Lt Luke James Memorial Fund or the Tyrone Cemetery Fund and may be left with Roberts Brothers Funeral Home, Box 745, Hooker, Oklahoma, 73945.
