Special to the Leader & Times

A retirement celebration for Southwestern Heights Lady Mustang basketball coach Barry Mellen is planned for May 24 in Plains.

There is a parade, dinner, and many other activities planned for the day. Shirts are being made in honor of Mellen. Those that would like to order one please contact Lorrie Wright at (580) 520-1985 as soon as possible.

Organizers would like to see as many former players as possible show up to participate in the parade and celebration, so please spread the word so no one is left out.

Organizers also hope to see as many fans of Mellen’s show up to support the occasion.

There will be more details at a later date or can contact Wright for more information.

Any suggestions, ideas, or questions are also welcomed.

Please mark your calendars to come show your gratitude to a coach who has touched so many lives in a positive way.
