John Scott Bookless, Sr., of Bouquete, Panama, passed away peacefully April 17, 2014.

John was born to the late George Scott and Pensie John "Scott" Bookless, August 2, 1941 in Baker, Okla. In 1956 the Bookless family moved from the Baker community to Guymon, Okla., where John attended high school. John graduated from Guymon High School with the class of 1959.

John married his loving wife, Chris, in 1969 in Douglas. They built their life together throughout the State of Wyoming and lived 35 years in Big Piney before retiring and moving to Panama in 2003. John worked as a mud engineer for International Drilling Fluids and later started his own company, B&B Oilfield Services, in 1988. He had a passion for traveling the world and enjoyed experiencing new adventures. His favorite toast was, “Here’s to life in paradise.”

John is survived by his wife Chris of Boquete, Panama, four children: John Scott Bookless, Jr. and wife Nora of Decatur, Ark., Daniel Bookless and wife Kalynne of Rock Springs, Wy., Tina Bookless of Grove, Okla. and Tamra Watts and husband Sean of Pinedale, Wy.; one son-in-law, Steve Reininger; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Becky Reininger, his brothers Junior and Robert Bookless and sister Alice Headrick.

John will be greatly missed by his family and friends.“So when tomorrow starts without me, don’t think we’re far apart, For every time you think of me, I’m right here, in your heart.”
