MEADE – Earl M. Young, 82, died Monday, May 26, 2014.

He was born on Feb. 25, 1932, to Henry and Mattie (Spoonemoore) Young in Townsend, Mont.

He married Josie "Pearl" Veach on October 22, 1954.  She preceded him in death.

He worked at the Co-Op Elevator for seven years and in the oilfield before and after that.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and cards.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; sons, Danny and Stephen; brother, Ernest; sisters, Grace, Ruth, Helen and Joyce; grandson, Jade Foster; and granddaughter, QuaFerley.

He is survived by son, Mark Young and wife, Trena, Hinsdale, N.H.; daughters, Sandra Foster and husband, Brad, Meade, Sherry Weber and husband, Richard, Fowler, Sonya Padgett and husband, Larry, Fowler, and Shannon Couse, Meade; grandchildren, Steven Young, Barre, Vt., Teresa Young, Battleboro, Vt., Sheila Dominque, Wilmington, Vt., Amanda Young, Hinsdale, Josh Foster, Raleigh, N.C., Quianne Davis, Meade, Will Padgett, Plains, Christi Doney, Meade, Sheleighja Couse, Omaha, Neb., Amber Couse, Meade, and Troy Couse, Meade;  great-grandchildren, Anthony Schmidt, Medicine Lodge, Tailan Schmidt, Meade, Charlotte, Carissa and Elliot Young, Barre, Silas and Addison Dominque, Cotie and Eben White, Wilmington, Bractyn Couse, Talon Mein, Keagan Mein, and Trevin Mein, Omaha, Joslyn Helu, Meade, Maya, Olivia and Ella Doney, Meade, Jordy and Kinsley Padgett, Plains;  step great-grandchildren, Ethan and Derik Davis, Amarillo, Texas, and Aron Davis, Meade.

• Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary in Meade, with Minister Brad Foster and Pastor Bob Deacon presiding.

Visitation will be from 12 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will follow at the Graceland Cemetery in Meade.

Memorials are suggested to the Beam Senior Center or the Cancer Center of Kansas in care of the funeral home.
