• Special to the Leader & Times

Friends of Meade State Park is hosting a “Fishin’ Clinic” from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Meade State Lake Visitor’s Center. There is no age limit, so kids, teens and adults are welcome. Those 6 to 16 will need to have a parent or guardian with them.

Learn about the different rods and reels, how to prepare a pole for cork and tight-line fishing, using different baits and plugs. Learn how to tie a fisherman’s knot, how to cast a spincast or spinning reel and a bait caster reel.

The “Skills Group” will have the concession open for lunch.

Don’t forget to bring your pole and tackle box if you have one.
