ELKHART – Mildred M. Warnock, 98, died Wednesday, March 10, 2010, in Colorado Springs, Colo.
She was born Oct. 16, 1911, to John and Lula Thompson in a dugout in Stevens County.
She married Chalmer S. Warnock Sept. 26, 1933. He preceded her in death.
She cooked for the Longton School District for 17 years, and then retired and moved to Wichita.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Longton.
She enjoyed cooking for her family, needlework, traveling and boating.
She is survived by one son, John Warnock, Wichita; one daughter, Donna Henninge and husband, Fred, Colorado Springs; one brother, Roscoe Thompson, Elkhart; five grandchildren, Debra Wicker, John Warnock Jr., Barbara Stallbaumer, Danelle Henry and Patrick Henninge; 16 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, one brother Bonnie, three sisters, Buena Bradfield, Broma Bagley and Million Thompson, one grandson, Daniel Warnock and one daughter-in-law, Nancy Warnock.
o Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church in Elkhart with Pastor Timothy Lapp presiding.
Burial will follow at the Elkhart Cemetery.
