Girl Scout Troop No. 60005 is looking to help get some of the names of soldiers in Liberal Cemetery and Restlawn Cemetery whose personal histories were not known.
Girl Scout leader Michele Stoddard said a check by troop members indicates an estimated 500 to 600 such graves are in Liberal Cemetery, with about 100 in Restlawn Cemetery.
The girls in the troop are making sure the graves of the soldiers are easier to read and that the vets are properly recognized for their service.

The Leader & Times is working with Troop 60005 to recognize some of the veterans in local cemeteries. A list of names will be part of the newspaper’s Veterans Day, Memorial Day and July 4 editions until the project is finished.
