The Liberal City Commission will be taking on another somewhat light agenda at its next meeting tonight.
The first item on the agenda will be to approve the final reading of Ordinance No. 4427, which concerns the re-zoning of “C-2” general commercial land to “R-1” single family residences. The first reading was at the June 10 meeting.
The next item on the agenda will be the Liberal Fire Department seeking approval to purchase four sets of protective clothing from Weis Fire. Staff will be recommending the approval to buy the new protective clothing.
“This decision is based on the fact that we must, to the greatest extent possible, maintain the same brand of gear in our inventory,” the agenda packet said. “By remaining with the same brand over the years, we build an inventory that allows us to equip our personnel as uniformly as possible.”
After these two items will be the report from City Manager Mark Hall and items from commissioners. After discussion of the vouchers there will be a 20 minute executive session per K.S.A. 75-4319(b)(2) for the purpose of consultation with an attorney which would be considered privileged in the attorney-client relationship.
At the conclusion of the executive session, the meeting will be adjourned.
