Community Blood Drive set for Thursday PDF Print E-mail

• Special to the Leader & Times

The American Red Cross urgently needs donors to help prevent an emergency blood shortage following the Independence Day holiday. Blood donors of all types, especially those with type O negative, B negative and A negative, are encouraged to give now.

Summer can be among the most challenging times of the year to collect enough blood  donations – yet the need for blood doesn’t take a summer break – it is especially needed at this time of year. Supplies are low in Kansas.

Donors will have the chance to help during the Liberal Community Blood Drive from noon to 6 p.m. Thursday at the Western Avenue Church of Christ at 215 S. Western Ave.

For a reservation, call 800-733-2767 or visit redcrossblood.org.
