The Lady Cardinals got their first victory of the season Tuesday with a 48-39 win over Keyes, Okla.

Maegan Rider sparked the Lady Cardinals early with two three-point baskets in the first quarter and 12 points on the night to lead the Lady Cardinals.

Turpin jumped out to a 12-7 lead after the first quarter, but Keyes rallied in the second quarter to take a 21-20 halftime lead over the Lady Cardinals.

But Turpin responded in the third, shotting out to score 13 points.

But it was the Lady Cardinal defense that proved to be the difference, holding Keyes to only five points.

Both teams found their offensive stride on the fourth quarter, but the strong third quarter for the Lady Cardinals was too much for Keyes to overcome.

Rider hit three threes for the night to lead the Lady Cardinals with

12 points. Amanda Becker added 10 points for the Lady Cardinals Rachel Haralson scored nine points in the win.

The Lady Cardinals are 1-1.

Keifer Hood led the Turpin Cardinals to a 58 37 win over Keyes to keep the Cardinals perfect at 2-0.

Hood scored 17 points in the win. Braydon Robinson contributed 14 points, and Blake Scott added 10.

Turpin was only eight of 19 from the free throw line, but they didn’t need them against Keyes.

Turpin connected on six three-pointers in the game, three from Scott and three from Keifer Hood.

Scott hit two three-pointers in the first quarter to give the Cardinals an early 13-9 lead.

But a dominating second quarter put the Cardinals ahead for good.

Robinson scored eighth of his 14 points in the period, and the Cardinals put 20 more points on the board while Keyes added 13. By half, Turpin led 33-22.

Turpin continued to find success offensively in the second half while the Turpin defense caused Keyes to struggle. Turpin scored 14 points in the third quarter while Keyes could only manage six.

Turpin made it a clean sweep, winning the fourth quarter 11-9 for the

58-39 win.

The Cardinals will travel to Hooker Tuesday.
