The Cimarron River Rattler 13-year-olds finished second at the Midwest Regional Tournament at Brent Gould Field. The team lost their first game to Missouri 13-6 before reeling off four straight victories. The Rattlers eliminated Nebraska, 18-8 and then eliminated Minnesota, 11-8. The Rattlers continued their winning streak be eliminating Iowa, 7-4 to reach the final three. After trailing North Dakota 12-8 in the seventh, the Rattlers rallied to tie the game and force an extra inning where they scored five runs for a 17-12 win and advanced to the championship. The Rattlers scored seven runs in the first inning but could not add another and lost 17-7 to Missouri, the only team in the tournament to beat the Rattlers. The Rattlers are Carlos Balderas, Jett Brown, Cesar Burciaga, Kody Gibson, Ethan Green, Matthew Hernandez, Elijah McCarter, Saul Mendoza, Xavier Perez, Dylan Thompson, Max Valles, Brodie Warren, Alex Yanez and coaches Kyle Potts, Jared Hall, Ronnie Warren and manager Trevor Thompson.  L&T photo/Chris Linenbroker
