Anti-gun zealots will use the death of one of their own to disarm you E-mail

James Brady died Monday, Aug. 4, 2014, at the age of 73. A darling of the left, he’s been lionized repeatedly by the Lame Stream Media for his attempts to take away Second Amendment rights of all Americans across this nation.

Why do these people idolize someone who would never, ever give you the right to defend yourself from murderers, rapists and thieves? Because it’s all about controlling you – the public.

They know they can never totally control you as long as you own firearms. Thus they idolize those who would take away your right to own them.

For younger readers, Brady survived a gunshot wound to the head in a 1981 assassination attempt on then-President Ronald Reagan. He had numerous operations throughout the past 33 years, but never regained normal use of his limbs and was often in a wheelchair.

Brady undertook a personal crusade for gun control after suffering his bullet wound. The Brady law, named after him, requires a five-day wait and background check before a handgun can be sold. President Bill Clinton signed it into law in 1993.

In his biography – as reported in story after story this past week – he is praised for his decades-long quest to prevent gun violence.

Here is the claim many anti-gunners drool over, “The Brady law has blocked an estimated 2 million prohibited gun purchases and helped save countless lives. The Bradys’ continued leadership has been a driving force on gun violence prevention.”

That’s right off his own website, too.

Here’s a truth anti-gun zealots should think about: Restricting a law abiding citizen from owning a gun does not prevent gun violence. It increases gun violence against those who cannot protect themselves, which is guaranteed under the Second Amendment of teh U.S. Constitution.

Many may not realize his and his wife’s “Brady Campaign” has also seen the offshoots like “The Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence” and “The Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence.” All are anti-Second Amendment, highly funded lobbyist organizations.

They have been instrumental in cities like Chicago, Washington DC, Detroit, Philadelphia, New York and San Francisco where gun rights are some of the most restrictive in the nation. These cities are also where some of the most horrendous and highest gun-related murders happen annually.

What the anti-gun media overlooks and fails to report – it won’t even ask the question – is why there is a correlation between highly restrictive gun purchases and ownership and the highest murder rates and shootings in the country.

It is obvious: Dangerous criminals know their victims more than likely don’t have a gun, or they can’t even buy a gun. Thus it’s open slaughter in those cities and many others.

Some claim Brady “helped save countless lives,” because 2 million purchasers have been rejected under the Brady Act.

My question is, “How many people have died because they couldn’t legally purchase a gun or keep a gun in their own home during these last 23 years since the Brady Act?

Hundreds?

Thousands?

Tens of thousands?

My guess is that 2-million number happened in the first few years of the Brady Act, because today, hardened criminals don’t go down to Walmart to buy a weapon. They buy them from thieves, addicts and gun runners on the streets.

The left-leaning, anti gun ownership District of Columbia police even announced last Friday that Brady’s death “has been ruled a homicide.”

That would almost be laughable, but they are serious. And guess who else is in on this scam?

Eric Holder.

Friday’s Associated Press story about Brady’s death ruling (the L&T ran it in Sunday’s edition) noted “William Miller, a spokesman for the U.S. attorney’s office in Washington, said the office ‘is reviewing the ruling on the death of Mr. Brady and has no further comment at this time.’ District police and the FBI are also reviewing the case.”

Why would the U.S. attorney’s office and the FBI get involved with such an asinine ruling on Brady’s death?

Holder controls both agencies, and he is an admitted anti-gun proponent. With this fiasco, he’s proven – again – he’s also an “activist.”

Holder, the D.C. Police and every other anti-Second Amendment individual and group are using Brady’s death for political reasons. Their message: “Let’s keep as many of these cities gun-free as possible and scare the ignorant public.”

If Brady’s death was caused by a gun shot to the head 33 years ago and classified as a homicide today, Reagan’s death 23 years after he was shot should have been ruled the same thing.

It wasn’t.

Brady’s isn’t either.

But the anti-gun crowd will milk Brady’s death for as long as they can, becasue if they can disarm you, they can rule you with an iron fist.
