C. E. Windle, age 89, passed away in Payson, Arizona on August 23, 2014. He was raised in Kansas and was born there on January 3, 1925. Mr. Windle served honorably with the United States Navy for four years during World War II. Fourteen years ago, he and his wife relocated to Payson, Arizona.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Phyliss (nee Hawkins); five children, Cindy Windle of Pine, AZ, Becky Archibald (Jerry) of Evergreen, CO, Steve Windle (Gayle) of Austin, TX, Craig Windle (Linda) of Hudson, CO, and Peaches Windle (Nelson Escue) of San Diego, CA; 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

• A memorial service will be held Thursday, August 28, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Messinger Payson Funeral Home.
