FOWLER – Ladena May Smith, 70, died Aug. 22, 2014 at her home in Fowler after a long battle with cancer.
She was born March 21, 1944 to Sherman Samuel Stepp and Laura May Bray.
She married Steward James Smith. He survives.
She served the Lord with her husband in churches in California and Kansas, loving people and blessing people with her generous, giving heart.
She was very creative designing fresh and dried flower arrangements and crafts that she sold or spontaneously gave away.
Survivors also include three daughters: Tamara and husband, Mark Ostby, Pennsylvania, Judy and husband, Keith Klassen, Kansas, and Laura and husband, Doug Hitchman,California; sister, Sandi, California; and seven grandchildren: grandson, Caleb Ostby and wife, Rebekah Pennsylvania, granddaughter Trudi Ostby, North Carolina, grandson, Nathan Ostby, North Carolina, grandsons, Matthew and Steven Klassen, granddaughter Abigail Klassen, all living in Kansas and grandson, Robert Hitchman, California.
• Funeral services will be at the Fowler Christian Church on Sept. 1, 2014 at 10:45 a.m.
