This school bus had a close encounter with an automobile Monday afternoon, but none of the 30 to 35 students were injured or in any immediate danger, according to Liberal Police Capt. Pat McClurg. He explained the bus came upon a disabled Crown Victoria that was in the roadway westbound on Eighth Street near the traffic light. As the bus attempted to go around the vehicle to make a right turn onto Kansas Avenue, it nicked the Crown Victoria. “There probably wasn’t even a $1,000 in total damages,” McClurg said.
