MAXINE M. PHILLIPS
HUGOTON – Maxine Margaret Phillips, 87, died Sunday, Nov. 30, 2008, at her daughter’s home in rural Hugoton.
She was born Dec. 21, 1920, to Glenn L. and Anna (Helfrich) Forward in Goddard.
She married Ebert R. Phillips Sept. 16, 1945, in Liberal. He preceded her in death.
She worked for IGA Grocery Store for many years.
She was a member of the First Church of God, and she attended the Senior Citizens Activity Center, both of Hugoton.
She enjoyed playing cards and traveling.
Survivors include one son, Douglas Phillips and wife, Teresa, Allenhurst, Ga.; two daughters, Kaye Keith and husband, Galen, Hugoton, and Jane Porter and husband, Gary, Hugoton; two brothers, Charles Forward and wife, Evalean, Hugoton, and Wayne Forward and wife, Mary Ann, Hugoton; four sisters, a twin, Mildred Moser, Hugoton, Jean Coulter, Hugoton, Dula May Hughes, Franklin Furnace, Ohio, and JoAnn Sessler and husband, Bob, Quartsite, Ariz.; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and many relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; one granddaughter, Cheryl Martin; and one great-granddaughter, Sadie Grace Gifford.
o Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the First Church of God in Hugoton with Pastor Lanning Bollacker presiding.
Burial will be at the Hugoton Cemetery.
Friends may call until 8 p.m. today at Paul’s Funeral Home.
