Special to the Daily Leader

Two doubles teams took second place honors at the Emporia Invitational Tennis Tournament as Redskin Tennis competed against some of the best teams from eastern Kansas Saturday.

Liberal competed with teams from Emporia, Valley Center, Salina South, Ark City, and Shawnee Heights.  The Redskins did not place as a team, but individually, teams improved their seeding chances at Regionals with impressive wins over quality opponents.

Individual Results:

No. 1 Singles:  Josh Hamilton went 0-5 on the day but played well and gained valuable experience.  He lost to Valley Center's Tyler Dolt 0-8, lost to Emporia's Chris Reimer 0-8, lost to Ark City's Jordan Butler 4-8, lost to Salina South's Zach Lantz 0-8, then lost to Shawnee Heights' Chance Joost 0-8.
