A Guymon, Okla., man was admitted to Southwest Medical Center with a leg injury, and another is in critical condition in a Wichita hospital following a collision Sunday evening near Tyrone, Okla.
Around 9:25 p.m., Gasper Cruz-Mendoza, 41, was driving a 1997 GMC Jimmy westbound about one-and-three-tenths miles east and one-and- three-tenths miles north of Tyrone on U.S. Highway 54 in Texas County, according to a report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
The report indicated for an unknown reason, the Jimmy ran off the right side of the roadway, overcorrected and rolled an unknown number of times, coming to rest on the driver’s side.
A passenger in the vehicle, Marciano Velasquez-Mendoza of Guymon, whose age is unknown, was ejected.
Cruz-Mendoza was taken to SWMC, where he was admitted with a leg injury. He is listed in stable condition, according to the OHP. He was pinned in the vehicle for about 45 minutes.
Velasquez-Mendoza was also taken to SWMC and admitted with head and internal injuries. He was later transported to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, where he is listed in critical condition.
