LIMON, Colo. – Bernard L Cain, 93, died Thursday, April 15, 2010.
He was born April 16, 1916, near Tyrone, Okla.
He married Myrtle Laurene Hanner May 13, 1942 in Dodge City. She survives.
He attended school in Cushing, Okla. and graduated in 1934.
He was in the Army Corps of Engineers. Serving as a Foreman of Construction in North Africa and for the invasion of Italy, and later in Germany, he was discharged as Master Sergeant.
He was a a master craftsman. He designed and built homes in the Simla and Limon area. In the late 1960s he and Myrtle Laurene took on consecutive custom homes for siblings and good friends in Oklahoma and Kansas, building there until retirement in 1977.
He was a member of the Simla Methodist Church.
Other survivors include,one son, Bernie; one daughter, Brenda; one daughter-in-law, Barbara; one son-in-law Michael Knue; one granddaughter, Cody Rae Knue; one brother, Glenn Cain, Tyrone, Okla.; one sister-in-law, Opal Skinner, Hugo, Colo.; nephews and nieces, Larry and Grace Skinner, Connie and Conway Diffee, Marjorie and Dick Faucett and Royal and Tish Austin; also numerous other nieces and nephews; and many neighbors and friends.
o Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, at Love Funeral Home in Limon, Colo.
