Jack Wayne Stoops, 71, died Monday, April 26, 2010, at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.
He was born Oct. 10, 1938, to Merle and Bonnie (Cook) Stoops in Lamar, Colo.
He graduated from Hugoton High School in 1956 and attended Kansas State University.
He married Nada Stansberry. She preceded him in death on Aug 22, 2008.
He married Leslyann Suckstorff.
He was a self employed cattle buyer and trucker, owning and operating Stoops Cattle Co. and Stoops Trucking.
He is survived by one son, Stuart C. Stoops and wife, Terri, Dickinson, Texas; two daughters, Stacy O’Brian and husband, Dan, Casper, Wyo. and Geri Dannels, Topeka; ten grandchildren, Darrick O’Brian, Shane O’Brian, Keegan O’Brian, Bryan Barnes, Sarah Shaughnessy, Shannon Stoops, Chris Daugherty, Ashley Daugherty, Hunter Stoops and Jordan Stoops; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Allene Hathaway and husband, Doyle, Olathe.
He is also preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, LaJuana Ward and Deann Suddeth.
o Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Hugoton Cemetery with Pastor Randy Nash presiding.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday with the family present from 7 to 8 p.m. at Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home.
