The Boise City girls won their seventh state track championship and first since 2003, winning with 98 points - 33 ahead of second place Thomas. The Turpin boys were unable to defend last year's state title, but were able to finish third.

Turpin could have finished as high as second, but were disqualified for a lane violation after winning the 1600-meter relay. Beaver also saw their chances to medal in the event slip away in the prelims with a disqualification handed down by the same judge in the same location on the track as Turpin.

Forgan swept the high jump with Kaci Hall winning on the girls side with a leap of 5'4", and Ryan Radcliff winning on the boys side with a leap of 6' 2".

Turpin's Brenton Kirkhart won two golds in the 200 meters, and anchoring the 400-meter relay.
