MONTEZUMA – Genevieve Marrs, 84, died Saturday, May 15, 2010, at Bethel Home Inc. in Montezuma.
She was born Nov. 9, 1925, to Alvin P. and Bertha (Clover) Bargar in Montezuma.
She married Irvin E. Marrs April 12, 1944, in Cimarron. He survives.
She owned and managed the Marrs AG grocery store and owned Star Cleaners.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Montezuma.
She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for 63 yearas and a Girl Scout leader.
She enjoyed various crafts.
Other survivors include one son, Perrie Neal Marrs and wife, Amy, Port Aransas, Texas; one daughter, Dianna Sue Walker and husband, Mike, Houston; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; one daughter-in-law, Darla Marrs, Montezuma; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Gary Marrs; one sister, Ethlyn Powers; and one grandson, Brandon Marrs.
o Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the United Methodist Church in Montezuma with the Rev. Jerry Odle presiding.
Burial will be at the Fairview Cemetery in Montezuma.
Friends may call until 4 p.m. and from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Montezuma Funeral Home.
