ROLLA – Darlene Sophia Clinesmith, 92, died Wednesday, May 26, 2010, at Morton County Health Systems in Elkhart.
She was born Dec. 12, 1917, to Orval Edward and Pearl (Youngren) Rich in Stevens County.
She married Albert Dale Clinesmith Sept. 25, 1938, in Boise City, Okla. He died in June of 1994.
She worked for the United States Postal Service for 35 years and retired.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women.
She was a 4-H leader in Rolla, a senior class sponsor in 1962, the 2008 Morton County Pioneer Woman of the Year and a member of the Rolla Senior Citizens, Southwest council on Aging Board, the Moton County Historical Society Board and the Christmas Quilts Project for foster children.
Survivors include one son, Gary Dale Clinesmith and wife, Diana, Lenexa; three sisters, Fern Traver, Hugoton, Verna Mauplin, Skiatook, Okla., and Doris Mantzke, Hugoton; four grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, one infant son, Eldon Dean Clinesmith, one daughter, Sheri Brummett, one brother, Claude Rich, one grandson, Robin Brummett, and one son-in-law, Ronald Brummett.
o Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church in Rolla with the Rev. Sandy Ferguson presiding.
Burial will be at the Rolla Cemetery.
Friends may call until 8 p.m. today at Paul’s Funeral Home.
