The Hooker High School Class of 2010 received their diplomas Saturday, May 22, at the HHS gym.
Josh Faulkner gave the invocation before the mixed choir performed “The Gifts You’ve Given to My Life” featuring solos by seniors Shakaira Baugh, Josh Faulkner and Carlee Gilmore.
Valedictorian Carlee Gilmore and salutatorian Saira Ugarte gave a combined address before Carol Cathcart and others presented scholarship awards. Dan Faulkner, Joe Oliver and the Hooker Board of Education congratulated the class as they were presented their diploma covers.
During a slide show compiled by Shakaira Baugh, the class presented roses to their loved ones.
After the class members turned their tassels and tossed the caps into the air, Michael Wiebe gave the benediction.
The class was escorted by junior honor students Luke Kraft# and Stormi Talley. Ushers were Crystal Ferguson, Hunter Huckins and Ethan Neal.
The HHS Class of 2010 had been honored May 19 at baccalaureate sponsored by the Hooker Ministers’ Alliance when Brian Jones, pastor of the First Christian Church, gave the address.
Others participating in the program were Roy Berkley, A.J. Jones, Chris McFarland and Jerry Raab. The high school choir sang “Things That Never Die.”
Members of the HHS Class of 2010 are Mary Shanita Acevedo, Austin James Arnold, Shakaira Skie Baugh, Kyler J. Blackwelder, Jake Austin Broadbent, Cassandra Faye Bryant, Devin Lee Cockroft, Blake Allen Davis, Nicholas Matthew Dietrick, Joshua David Faulkner, Gilberto Figueroa, Carlee Nichole Gilmore, Amber Nichole Graham, Kyle Johnson, Blake Kennedy, Mayra Iveth Mendoza, Ana Ruth Mercado Figueroa, Rebecca Rose North, Leslie DeNeane Russell, Timothy Stovall, Lucero Ugarte, Saira Ugarte, Robin Lea Vega, Magaly Lozano Villa, Michael Wiebe, Tia Nicole Witt and Jordan Esther Wright.
