SATANTA – Phyllis Ilene Russell, 81, died Friday, June 11, 2010, at Satanta District Hospital in Satanta.

She was born Dec. 30, 1928, to Ralph Masters and Clara Jane (Hayes) Nickel in Arnold.

She married Keith Russell. He preceded her in death June 1980.

She was a member of the Church of Christ.

She worked for Vo Tech Book Store. She was also a cook.

She enjoyed crocheting and painting sweat shirts and ceramics.

She is survived by four sons, Monte Russell, Sparks, Nev., Lonte Russell and wife, Coreen, Sacramento, Calif., Alan Russell and wife, Lynn, San Bernardino, Calif. and Steven Russell and wife, Kathy, Clarksville, Tenn.; four daughters, Keithetta Dillon and husband, Paul, Satanta, Phyllis Bradley, Liberal, LuAnn Metcalf and husband, Marty, Ava, Mo. and Ellen Blankenship, Big Springs, Texas; one sister, Thelma Nickel, Atwood; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many other family and friends.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; one son, Keith Warren Russell; one son-in-law, Kai Bradley; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three brothers, Harold Nickel, Dick Nickel and Dewayne Nickel; six sisters; Marie Worrel, Lois Pyle, Irene Plummer, Bessie Hammons, Janice Blalack and Cecile Jane Nickel.

o Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Southern Baptist Church in Satanta with Minister Larry Bradford presiding.

Burial will follow at Liberal Cemetery.

Friends may call today from 2 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Haskell County Funeral Home.

Memorials are suggested to the Satanta Long Term Care Unit for the Activity Department, Satanta, K.S. in care of Haskell County Funeral Home, P.O. Box 607, Sublette, K.S. 67877.
