ULYSSES – Della Arlene Hampton, 86, died Thursday, June 10, 2010, at The Legacy at Park View in Ulysses.
She was born Aug. 18, 1923, to Frank Lahey and Della (Beasley) Lahey-Robinson in Grant County.
Arlene attended Moscow and Ulysses elementary schools and high school in Ulysses.
She married Robert “Wade” Hampton June 23, 1942, in Downey, Calif. He preceded her in death Oct. 8, 1985.
She worked with her husband in his farming ventures.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church.
She was a member of the Sweet Adelines and the American Legion Auxiliary Post No. 79.
She is survived by two sons, Kenny Hampton, Ulysses and Lyle Hampton and wife, Linda, Ulysses; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one sister, Fern Kinsey and husband, Tex, Hyatteville, Wyo.; and one brother-in-law, Charles Ladner, Reserve, N.M.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; step-father, James Robinson; one son, Phillip Hampton; one daughter-in-law, Sheryl; and two sisters, Rosemary Ladner and Frances Longtin.
o Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Ulysses Cemetery with John Duran presiding.
