MOSCOW – Charles Ray Gilbert, 68, died Sunday, June 13, 2010, at Bob Wilson Memorial Grant County Hospital in Ulysses.
He was born Jan. 14, 1942, to Willis G. and Bertha Viola (Palmer) Gilbert in Fort Knox, Ky.
He married Katherine Jane Munson Aug. 3, 1974, in Moscow. She survives.
He worked as a truck driver and horseman.
He was a member of Moscow Baptist Church.
He was a member of the American Paint Horse Association, German Shorthair Association and the National Rifle Association.
He is also survived by one son, Ricky Grandstaff, Moscow; three daughters, Peggy Gunderson and husband, Mark, Moscow, Rachel Reese and husband, Phillip, Ulysses and Darcie Gilbert, Kansas City; two sisters, Ellen Marie Gilbert, Jacksonville, Fla. and Delores Maffet, Mobile, Ala.; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and five sisters.
o Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Moscow Baptist Church with Pastor Larry Bradford presiding.
Burial will follow at Moscow Cemetery.
Friends may call until 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Paul’s Funeral Home.
