HUGOTON – Katherine Amanda Saldana, 71, died Saturday, June 19, 2010, in her home in Hugoton.
She was born May 12, 1939, to Eliseo and Matilda (Lucero) Romero, in Gladstone, N.M.
She was a cook at the Senior Center and Stevens County Hospital.
She was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church in Hugoton.
She is survived by six sons, Larry Roybal, Florence, Colo., David Roybal and wife, Jeana, Paducah, Ky., Joey Roybal, Liberal, Richard Roybal, Joplin, Mo., Steven Roybal, Joplin and Michael Saldana, Hugoton; two daughters, Starla Ervin and husband, David, Wichita and Julie Sutton and husband, Stuart, Hugoton; one stepmother, Mary Romero, Hugoton; three brothers, Ernie Romero and wife, Ernestine, Maxwell, N.M., Frankie Romero and wife, Margie, Albuquerque, N.M. and Tommy Romero and wife, Mary, Hugoton; two sisters, Evangeline Townsend, Kane, Pa. and Nellie Garcia, Hugoton; 20 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, Bryan Roybal; and two brothers, Andy Romero and Leo Romero.
o Vigil services will be at 7 p.m. today at St Helen Catholic Church in Hugoton.
Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St Helen Catholic Church with Father Pascal Klein presiding.
Burial will follow at Hugoton Cemetery.
Friends may call until 5 p.m. today at Paul’s Funeral Home in Hugoton.
