CHARLES E. RINGER
Charles E. Ringer 83, died on Friday December 12, 2008, at Southwest Medical Center.
He was born March 24, 1925, to Charlie Pierce and Edna Lee (Perkins) Ringer in Hereford, Texas. He completed his schooling in 1943 in Goodwell, OK. He has been a resident of Liberal since 1946, and he was a very successful regional salesman for Electrolux for 40 years.
He served in the U.S. Navy Seabees in World War II. He was very active in the Boy Scouts of America and his three sons were all Eagle Scouts. He was an active member of the First United Methodist Church for 62 years and the Liberal Rotary Club for many years. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the local Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed building his home, building furniture and restoring antiques. He also designed and built stained glass and painted with oil paint. On February 23, 1947, he married Joan Long at her mother’s home in Liberal. They were married 62 years.
Other survivors include three sons Charles E. Ringer Jr. Oak Harbor, WA – David Ringer and wife Kittie, Dallas, TX, Robert J. Ringer, Stone Mountain, GA, One daughter Susan Koons and husband Dan, Liberal KS. Five Grandchildren Mark and Chelsea Ringer, Catherine Keep, Stephen Ringer, and Christopher Koons. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and three sisters.
o Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Dave Randall presiding. Burial will be in the Liberal Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, December 15th with family to receive visitors from 5:30 until 7 p.m. at Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home 1212 W. Second, Liberal, Kansas 67901.
