DUNCAN, Okla. – Fanni “Kitty” Marie Russell, 86, died Thursday, June 17, 2010, at Duncan Regional Hospital in Duncan, Okla., after a short battle with cancer.
She was born Aug. 13, 1923, to Charlie Washington Washington and Mary Ellen Cox-Beavers in the Hope community.
She married Walter Earnest Russell Aug. 13, 1943. He survives.
She attended high school at Marlow and later graduated from cosmetology school in Farmington, N.M., and worked as a beautician for several years. She left the workforce when Earnest surrendered to preach in 1964. She joined him in service by teaching Sunday school and singing with the choir.  
She enjoyed working in her yard, spending time with her family, and playing with her great-grandchildren.
Other survivors include one son, Michael Russell and wife, Kathryn, Liberal; one daughter, Charolette Jones, Marlow; one brother, Wesley Beavers and wife, Shirley, Lindsay; five grandchildren, Terrina McCarley and husband, Gary, Marlow, Charmen McCaslin and husband, Ron, Choctaw, Wendy Freeman and husband, Rodney, and Marci Self and husband, Ken, all of Marlow, and Christi Russell, Virginia Beach, Va.; eight great-grandchildren, Kevin, Cody and Kristopher McCarley, Justin and Erin McCaslin, Calee and Cameron Freeman and Trent Self;  three sisters-in-law Ruby Dean Gallagher and husband, Bill, Floy Crosby and Joy Russell, all of Marlow; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her father and mother-in-law, Berniece and Bessie Russell, six brothers, Ebb Beavers, Jess Beavers, Walter Beavers, Edgar Beavers, TD Beavers and JW Beavers, and five sisters, Tinsy Fleetwood, Bessie Payne, Freda Rowe, Lily Preston and Faye Busby.
o Services were at 2 p.m. today at the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Marlow. 
Burial was at the Marlow Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
