Carmen L. Francis, 69, died Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2008, at her residence in Liberal.

She was born on Jan. 17, 1939, to John and Daisy (Kelly) Evans in Plains.  

She graduated from Plains High School.

She was the owner/operator of The Gift Box in Liberal from 1975–1986. 

Survivors include her mother; two sons, Shannon Francis and wife, Carol, Liberal, and Darrin Francis and wife, Nancy, Maple Grove, Minn.; one daughter, Bridgitt Francis, Belle, Mo.; one brother, Gary Evans and wife, Carol, Plains; and five grandchildren, Kelly, Kimberly, John, Samuel and Benjamin Francis.

She was preceded in death by her father.

o Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Plains Cemetery with her nephew, the Rev. Andrew Evans presiding.  

Friends may call from 6 – 8 pm Thursday at Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home.

Memorials are suggested to the Stepping Stone Shelter in care of Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home, 1212 W. Second, Liberal, KS 67901.
