HUGOTON – James A. Murray, 83, died Sunday, June 27, 2010, at Good Samaritan Center in Liberal.

He was born July 6, 1926, to Charles A. and Blanche S. (McKenna) Murray at Arvard, Okla.

He married Pauline J. Heston Dec. 26, 1949, in Hugoton. She survives.

He worked for a grain elevator for many years and as a sexton for Hugoton Cemetery.

He was a member of First Church of God in Hugoton.

He was a member of the Kiwanis of Hugoton.

He is also survived by two daughters, Paula Cowser and husband, Edward, Rolla and Patricia Zellner and husband, Louis Jr., Hugoton; two brothers, Larry Murray and wife, Evona, Aline, Okla. and Eldon Murray and wife, Anna Lee, Woodward, Okla.; one sister, Doris Koon and husband, Eddie, Wichita; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Wayne Murray; four brothers, John, Herb, Bill and Delmar Murray; and one sister, Florence Murray.

o Graveside services were at 2 p.m. today at Hugoton Cemetery with Minister Lanny Bollacker presiding.
