Dr. Bob Sager has died while vacationing in Canada. Though details of his death have not been released, Constable Martin Hachey with the Collingwood Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police said Sager had taken his own life.
“In cases like this, we do not release details,” Hachey said this morning.
According to the Web site http://drbobsager.typepad.com/about.html, “Dr. Sager earned his B.Sc. and M.D. degrees from the University of Toronto, where he also completed his residency in Family Practice Medicine at Toronto Western Hospital. After 25 years of family practice in Ontario, Dr. Sager moved to Liberal in 1997.
“In the course of a distinguished career spanning over 30 years, Dr. Sager has integrated conventional medicine with complementary therapies including acupuncture, functional medicine and nutrition.
“Dr. Sager was Board Certified in Family Practice and also holds certification from the American Board of Holistic Medicine. He was an active member of several professional societies, including the Kansas Medical Society, American Academy of Medical Acupuncture, the American College for the Advancement of Medicine and the American Academy of Pain Management. He has lectured internationally on health-related topics to the public, health care professionals and corporate groups.”
