Aaron Carillo dies when his tractor-trailer rig rolls

• Daily Leader staff report
A Liberal man died in a semi tractor/trailer accident Thursday morning in Southeast Colorado.
The man has been identified by the Colorado State Patrol as Aaron Carillo, 24.
The CSP is investigating the one-vehicle crash that resulted in Carillo’s death, which occurred at 10:15 a.m. Thursday on Highway 160, 4 miles west of Springfield, Colo., in Baca County.
A preliminary investigation noted Carillo was driving a 2003 Freightliner tractor towing a loaded semi-trailer westbound when it traveled off the northern side of the roadway and collided with a delineator post.
The driver overcorrected to the left, causing the tractor-trailer combination to roll onto its top.
Carillo was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash but sustained fatal injuries, according to the CSP report. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Alcohol and drug use are not suspected as contributing factors at this time, the report added.
