ELKHART – Helen Irene Eaton, 89, died Monday, July 12, 2010, at Morton County Hospital in Elkhart.

She was born Aug. 25, 1920, to Leon and Dottie Viola (Gurwell) Whitney, in Guymon, Okla.

She attended the Guymon school system.

She married Joe Eugene Eaton Dec. 24, 1937, in Hugoton. He survives.

She was a homemaker and attended the Nazarene Church.

Other survivors include one son, Clarence Eaton of Guymon; five sisters, Edna Thomason, Arlington, Texas, Kathryn Smith, Guymon, Madene McCormic, Oklahoma City, Dorothy Hall, Salina, Calif., and Mildred Kenner, Bullard, Texas; five grandchildren, Kefty Eaton and wife, LaJanne, Las Vegas, Kevin Eaton and wife, Terrie, Amarillo, Texas, Katrina Atkins and husband, James, Amarillo, Texas, Wendall Wehmeier and wife, Sarah, Elkhart, and Wayland Wehmeier, Guymon; 15 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter and son-in-law, Yvonne and Berkey Wehmeier; six brothers, Melvin, Ralph, Lawrence, Bobby, Kenneth and Clarence Whitney; one sister, Laura Mae Parson; and two granddaughters, Wynona Gail and Wynette Wehmeier.

o Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Guymon Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Wayne Dawson presiding.

Burial will follow at the Hooker Cemetery.

The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home in Guymon.

Memorials are suggested to the Guymon Church of the Nazarene and will be accepted at the church office or the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1112, Guymon, OK 73942.
