Clydena Mae McCollum, 73, died Tuesday, June 29, 2010, at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal after a lengthy illness.
She was born Aug. 23, 1936, to Clyde and Lauva Hasty Briles in Overbrook.
She married Ronald Shives in June 1957. He preceded her in death.
She married Jerry McCollum in June 1987. He preceded her in death.
She attended Adams Schools.
She worked at Ideal and Safeway Meat Markets in Liberal. Later, she worked for Beach Aircraft in Liberal. She was a homemaker.
She enjoyed embroidering, playing dominoes and collecting ceramic chickens. She was a member of Eastern Star.
She is survived by one son, Richard and wife, Chris, Security, Colo.; one brother, Darrell Briles and Carol, Wikieup, Ariz.; one sister, Bernell Richards and husband, Rodney, Hardesty, Okla.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and one son, Daren.
o Graveside services were at 1:30 p.m. today at the Hooker Cemetery with the Rev. Herbert Bridgewater of Union Center United Methodist Church presiding.
