The Liberal Fire Department finished up its third and final session of confined space rescue training Tuesday through Thursday of this week. Weeklong training took place at the end of May and June as well. Confined space rescue training was provided by Midwest Fire Training Associates of Burlington. Instructor and company owner Cheryl Treptow was joined by instructors Steve Atkinson and Kevin Jones. Midwest Fire Training will be returning to Liberal for trench rescue courses toward the end of September. According to Deputy Fire Chief Skeety Poulton, all full-time firefighters now have a certificate of completion in Confined Space Rescue Advanced Level II.  Daily Leader photo/Jessica Crawford
