GARDEN CITY – Robert Monroe “Bob” Kellogg, 76, died Friday, July 16, 2010, at St. Cathrine’s Hospital in Garden City.
He was born Oct. 28, 1933, to Clarence F. and Pearl (Alexander) Kellogg in Peoria, Ill.
He graduated from Peoria High School, Peoria, Ill.
He married Rebecca M. Saiz March 5, 1982, in Perryton, Texas. She survives.
He served in the U.S. Navy from May 1956 through June 1961. He was a Vietnam War veteran. He worked as a sales clerk at Wal-Mart.
He loved spending time with family. He also enjoyed cooking, bowling and working puzzles.
He is also survived by five sons, Robert Gale Kellogg, Steven Gene Kellogg-Lubowitz, Gary Franklin Kellogg, Earl E. Best and wife, Sara, Liberal, and David W. Best, Topeka; one daughter, Cathy Lynn Kellogg; two brothers, Frank Kellogg and wife, Erma, Monmouth, Ill., and Charles Kellogg and wife, Sharon, Bath, Ill.; one sister, Alice Bass, Haxtun, Colo.; two grandchildren, Crystal Bourell and husband, Zach, and Joseph Best and wife, Melissa; two great grandchildren, Anna Marie Bourell and Devon Joseph Best.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Jay Kellogg and Clifford Kellogg; one sister, Katherine Jackson; and one grandson, Carlos Lozoya.
o Recitation of rosary will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Liberal.
Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church with Father James Dieker presiding.
Burial will follow at Liberal Cemetery with military honors conducted by the U.S. Navy.
Friends may call until 8 p.m. today, with family present from 6 to 8 p.m., and 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home.
