Former Liberal resident Dr. Calvin Bigler dies at age 79 PDF Print E-mail

Former Liberal resident Dr. F. Calvin Bigler, MD, 79, of Winfield, passed away July 16, 2010, at William Newton Hospital in Winfield.
Bigler was a resident of Liberal from 1996-2004, and was the team doctor for several Liberal High School sports, including football and soccer. Bigler retired in 2004 and moved to Winfield, where he lived the final six years of his life. Bigler was also a former resident of Garden City for more than 20 years.
Bigler is survived by his wife Phyllis, four sons, a daughter, and their families.
Services were at 10 a.m. today at the First United Methodist Church. A private family burial will take place in La Veta, Colo., at a later date.
Memorials have been established for the Southwestern College William Bigler Scholarship fund and for the Southwestern College Richardson Hall Renovation Fund. Contributions can be made through Miles Funeral Service in Winfield.
