HUGOTON – Vivian L. Barnard, 88, died Sunday, July 25, 2010, at Garden Valley Retirement Village in Garden City.
She was born March 27, 1922, to Francis and Chloe Dyer.
She married Dewey Barnard March 10, 1941. He preceded her in death.
She owned the Rolla Tavern.
She was a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary.
She was active in the Stevens County Fair and a recipient of the Friend of the Fair Award. She loved fishing and playing bingo and was known for her baked goods.
She is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Clinesmith and husband, Charles, Hugoton, and Irene Schauer, Kaw City, Okla.; four grandchildren, Munika Young and husband, Alan, Garden City, Deb Munkres, Hugoton, Rene Hill, Garden City, and Billie Layman and husband, Craig, Kaw City; seven great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and other family and friends.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Cliff Dyer; and one grandson, Dewey Hill.
o Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Rolla United Methodist Church with Pastor Sandy Ferguson presiding.
Burial will follow at Rolla Cemetery.
Friends may call until 8 p.m. today at Paul’s Funeral Home in Hugoton.
