OVERLAND PARK – Windjammer Cable announced it recently launched a plan to invest in its network and roll out low cost bundles of residential cable, phone and high speed Internet service on one bill, as well as competitive broadband business solutions.
“To better serve our customers in Liberal, we had to spend the required capital. We also wanted to make sure we were addressing network reliability issues so our customers would enjoy a positive experience,” said Phil Spencer, Windjammer’s new CEO.
The company has already invested more than $7 million in capital over the last 18 months and plans to spend an additional $4 million to $5 million next year. The capital investment plan is an ongoing effort, and customers will see significant network and reliability improvements over the next 12 moths.
Some of the improvements include new circuits, expanded bandwidth capacity and new Internet equipment that will allow Windjammer to provide faster and more reliable service.
The company is also investing in the latest, state-of-the-art, set-top box technology that will combine Digital Video Recording and High Definition TV service in a single device. The new boxes will allow customers to record their favorite shows while watching television in HD.
The company also announced new low cost bundles that offer all three services in a bundled package on a single bill. These offers will be Windjammer’s standard rates, not “one-time” short term gimmick pricing that is seen with other providers. Customers will not have to sign two-year contracts to get Windjammer’s best offers.
“Other companies make you sign long-term contracts, and pricing increases dramatically at the end of the term. Windjammer now has several new bundles that will provide basic expanded cable, a set top box and high speed Internet for only $79.99 per month. Our triple play packages will include basic and expanded cable, a set top box, high speed Internet, local phone service with unlimited long distance and all the calling features for only $99.99 without signing a contract,” said David Ballew, Windjammer’s director of marketing.
“Customers in Liberal like to have consistency knowing that their bill is not going to have dramatic fluctuations every month. They also like the flexibility of having all three services on one bill without having to commit to contracts to get a great price. We’re excited about these new bundles, and we’ll be hosting a number of community events in the coming months to promote our new packages,” Ballew said.
