Kenneth Leon Brewer, 76, died Monday, Dec. 15, 2008 at his residence in Liberal..
He was born on Nov. 20, 1932, to John B. and Sylvia Serena (Durham) Brewer in Ringwood, Okla.
He married Margaret Ann Scheel April 4, 1953, in Alva, Okla. She survives.
He worked as a carpenter, with his father-in-law, and was a maintenance foreman for West Plains Energy Cimarron River Station from 1957–1995.
He served in the U.S. Army from April 1953 – April 1955 and was stationed at Fort Bliss, Texas.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
Other survivors include one son, Rick and wife, Karen Brewer, Liberal; one daughter, Judy and husband, Tom Hammerschmidt, Tomball, Texas; one brother, Neil Brewer and wife,
Connie, Liberal; one sister, Maxine Clepper, Garden City; one half sister, Vona Mae Fyffe, Great Bend; two grandchildren, Maggie Hammerschmidt, Tomball, and Lindsay Brewer, Oklahoma City; and several nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Darell Brewer, two half brothers, Harold Haight and Chester Brewer, one sister, Eula Stansberry, an infant sister, Serena Kay Brewer, and a half sister, Wava Reust.
o Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home Chapel in Liberal with Pastor Steve Saville and Pastor Dee Estes presiding.
Burial will be at the Liberal Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m.–8 p.m. Thursday at Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home.
Memorials are suggested to the First Presbyterian Church or the Liberal Home Health & Hospice in care of Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home, 1212 W. Second, Liberal, KS 67901.
