John Michael Rash, 59, died Monday, Aug. 9, 2010, at his residence in Liberal.

He was born July 26, 1951, to Vernon and Marjorie (Morrison) Rash in Borger, Texas.

He married Rosa Emma Franco Jan. 3, 1979, in Perryton, Texas. She survives.

He was a 1970 graduate of Phillips (Texas) High School. He then went on to college at West Texas A & M in Canyon, Texas.

He was the propane manager for Rash Oil Company for 40 years.

Other survivors include one son, John Ruiz and wife, Heather, Lansing; nine daughters, Luz Riggs and husband, Shawn, Liberal, Lupe Harrison and husband, Tim, Kansas City, Kan., Gloria Willomon and husband, Marshall, Liberal, Cristy Lopez and husband, Ray, Garden City, Mary Light, Atlanta, Marcy Chapman and husband, James, Yelm, Wash., Rosa Valentine and husband, Gary, Liberal, Donna Salcido and husband, Jose, Liberal, and Michelle Rash, Liberal; two brothers, Don Rash, Liberal, and Gary Rash and wife, Jona, Syracuse; 23 grandchildren, Carson Ruiz, Jacob Riggs, Morgan Riggs, Amanda Harrison, Diana Thompson, Angie Garza, Frankie Garza, Andrea Lopez, Monique Lopez, Jennifer Light, Nicholas Light, Gabriel Light, Johnathan Chapman, Miles Chapman, Joseph Chapman, Daniel Stapleton, Michael Stapleton, Moni Valentine, Sophia Salcido, Aaden Salcido Bailie Garcia, Israel Garcia and Megan Yankee; and 10 great-grandchildren, Justice Thompson, Alie Thompson, Jaxon Thompson, Liv Ella Brown, Madison Garza, Harper Scully, Jacob Chapman, Nathan Chapman, Chloe Stapleton and Max Stapleton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one granddaughter, Isabel A. Riggs, and one sister-in-law,  Priscilla Rash.

o Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church in Liberal with the Rev. Keith Bryant presiding.

Burial will follow at Restlawn Cemetery.

Friends may sign the guest register from 1 – 8 p.m. Wednesday at Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home.
