After this red sedan stalled in the southbound lanes of Kansas Avenue around 2:30 Thursday afternoon, backing traffic up several blocks, an unidentified Seward County Sheriff’s Deputy took it upon himself to move the car from the main thoroughfare through downtown rather than wait for a wrecker or other assistance. The long arm (and long legs) of the law once again provided calm and safety to the drivers who had been mired in the traffic snafu. Daily Leader photo/Kandace Carlisle
