For the second straight season, Seward County’s two high school volleyball teams will open the season against each other.

Last year, the Lady Redskins traveled to Southwestern Heights for the opening dual, and the Lady Mustangs won 16-14 in the fifth and deciding match.

The two faced each other later in the year in the championship match at Liberal’s tournament. The match again came down to the wire, but it was the Lady Redskins who squeezed out a victory to preserve the home court win streak.

Tuesday, the two programs will face off again, this time in the Big House at 6 p.m. in Liberal. The Lady Mustangs begin the season ranked third in Class 3A. The Lady Redskins enter the season unranked with new coach Thais Baziquetto.
