Virgil Dwayne Theiner, 62, died Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2010, in an accident.

He was born Oct. 18, 1947, to Virgil and Opal Blair Theiner in Liberal.

He married Karon Hickox March 29, 1974. She died Aug. 3, 1999.

He was a graduate of Hooker High School and graduated from vo-tech specializing in auto-body repair.

He worked as a pumper in the oil and gas field and was employed by XTO Energy until he retired in 2008.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hooker.

He was a member of the Hooker city council, a former first responder, former fire chief and volunteer firefighter. He volunteered with the Hooker parks department, where he worked on projects beautifying the town. He was an Eagle Scout.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, hunting, his cars and his cabin in Eagle Nest, N.M.

Survivors include one son, Brock and wife, Connie, Hooker; one daughter, Misty Lynch and husband, John, Hooker; one sister, Betty Weaver and husband, Robert, Fort Collins, Colo.; his grandchildren, Blaine Hunt, soon to be granddaughter, Hooker,  Tawny and fiancé, Blake Davis, Hunter Mills, Lakon Lynch and Lawson Lynch; soon to be great grandchild, Hooker; nephews Greg Starr and Cindy, Guymon, Andy Starr and Tina, Cheyenne, Wyo., Nathan Starr and Rita, Bend, Ore., Roy Anderson, Buhler, and Kyle Anderson and Kathy, Haysville; and a special friend, Sue Stanley, Gate, Okla.

He was also preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Mary Catherine Anderson.

o Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the new high school gymnasium in Hooker, Okla., with Brother Jim Roebuck presidining.

Burial will be at the Hooker Cemetery with the Rev. Jerry Raab presiding.

Memorials are suggested for the Hooker Parks and may be left at the Roberts Brothers Funeral Home, Box 745, Hooker, OK 73945.
